Cook Time 1 hour
Servings 48 cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup ground cloves
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1 1/5-2 cups water
  • 15 drops essential oils

Instructions

  • Combine the dry ingredients. Add flour, salt, cinnamon and cloves to a large bowl. Whisk to eliminate any clumps.
  • Put aside 1/4 cup of the dry ingredients to use for rolling out the dough.
  • Place 2 cups of water in a pitcher or glass measuring cup. Add essential oils to the water. You can use any ones you'd like. But I used Christmas Spirit, Nutmeg and Ginger.
  • Gradually pour water into the dry ingredients, stirring to combine. You will want to use your hands towards the end and knead like you would bread dough.
  • Once the dough is mixed thoroughly, place onto a floured surface (using the reserved flour mixture). Roll out to 1/4" thick and use cookie cutters to cut out dough. Place on baking sheet and bake in 300 degree oven for 1 hour.
  • Once the "cookies" have cooled, decorate using acrylic paint, paint pens, glue and glitter.
