How To Style a Festive New Year’s Eve Bar Cart
Whether you are hosting a big bash or an intimate gathering, toasting in the new year is definitely on the agenda. A festive bar cart sets the stage for a fun evening.
And, if you don’t drink alcohol, this idea can easily be replicated with sparkling cider and mocktails too!
There are so many different ways to style your bar cart for the holidays. I kept the look simple and centered around this New Year’s Eve table and celebration.
I used fresh greens, some fun paper garland and banner to decorate this festive bar cart. And I let the champagne do the talking!
I have this antique Tattinger silver champagne bucket that I knew would look perfect for my New Year’s Eve bar cart.
I tucked some fresh evergreen boughs into the bowl before filling with ice and champagne. An easy and no-fuss way to add some festive holiday cheer to this bar cart!
And I didn’t want to take away from the beauty of the champagne bucket, so I kept the rest of the look neutral. I used white light-up paper trees and gold and black paper garland as accents.
I love how the circle garland looks like champagne bubbles and goes with this festive bar cart theme. Draping your bar cart with streamers, garland and banners is an easy way to dress it up for the holidays!
I added a star garland to my starburst mirror and hung it asymmetrically. It doesn’t take much to make this New Year’s Eve bar cart feel special and ready for the party.
How To Set Up The Perfect New Year’s Eve Bar Cart
Now that you have the bar cart looking festive and pretty, let’s talk about setting it up for easy entertaining.
When I am hosting a party, I like to have the bar cart available for guests to mix their own drinks. This not only allows them to make exactly what they want, but it also makes it easier for you too! The last thing you want to be doing during your party, is being stuck behind the bar mixing drinks!
DIY Champagne Bar
If you are sticking with champagne for your NYE festivities, an easy and fun idea is to provide a mini champagne bar.
A festive idea for this bar cart is to provide a carafe or two of special juices that guests can use to top-off their champagne. Some people prefer to add a some flavor and color to their champagne. And it’s a fun way to provide some variety!
Be sure to have some liqueur mixers as well. St. Germain is the perfect champagne companion. But don’t forget about these other options: Aperol, Creme de Cassis, Apricot liqueur and Cognac!
Finally, set out bowls of fresh raspberries, pomegranates and cranberries for guests to top off their flute. This adds a pop of color to their bubbles! You could also skewer some fresh fruit and freeze them for the perfect drink stirrers.
New Year’s Eve Cocktail Recipes
Another idea to make NYE hosting simple is to provide a signature cocktail. Something that you can either prepare in a large pitcher or that guests can mix themselves.
Here are a few of my favorite New Year’s Eve cocktails that are perfect for your festive bar cart.
This Pomegranate Champagne Cocktail recipe is simple and I love the seasonal ingredients!
Moscow Mules are one of my favorite winter cocktails. And they are so easy to mix up! Bonus points for the festive copper mugs!
This Spicy Pear Punch is non-alcoholic and is a great option to offer kids and adults too! The sparkling ginger flavor is perfect for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
